Jessie Chorley at Manoir aux Écureuils 2026 Jessie Chorley will return to Manoir aux Écureuils in Summer 2026 for an inspirational embroidery retreat, which will celebrate four of the artist’s signature projects

Arrival on Aug 12 (in the afternoon for the welcome dinner) to Aug 18, after breakfast
The four projects will be; Fabric & Rag Books, Making Brooches, Pin cushions & Needle Cases and Embellishing a Time-Worn Garment. The retreat will start with a presentation by Jessie Chorley. This in person presentation will be time for you to listen, look, touch and be inspired by the creative world and lifestyle of this much celebrated London-based embroidery artist, author and tutor.
Under the guidance of Jessie and during day one of this retreat, you will select your project/ projects.You will choose to either work on all four projects. Or, you can select just one as your focus. As a central part of this retreat you will be going shopping with Jessie! Our main shopping trip will be to a traditional French Flea Market. Under the artist’s expert eye and guidance, together, we will look for both inspiration and materials. Once back at the studio, our finds will be incorporated into our individual projects. You will also be encouraged to share your finds as a group!
Kits:
A selection of printed templates/projects and assorted fabrics will be provided for you by Jessie. As will a silver pin for making a special brooch with. These inspiring and functional items will be tucked inside a hand crafted kit/goodie bag and presented to you at the start of this retreat.
Note: kits are priced at 65 Euros per person and are payable to Jessie during your time with her.

An assortment of your favourite embroidery threads. Bring things you like to work with and colours you love.

An assortment of your favourite fabric scraps. Plain and pretty floral patterns are all good choices.

Bring some larger pieces, for making into fabric books, pin cushions or needle cases. Smaller scraps and odd off-cuts can become brooches, or patches on a garment!

Odd favourite items of personal inspiration, such as old charms, buttons, vintag
